Still Here Grief Institute

Still Here Grief Institute

Grief doesn’t end. Neither does love.

Still Here Grief Institute exists to support grieving mothers and help the people around them better understand the realities of child loss. We make room for honest conversations about grief, continuing bonds, and the ordinary moments in which absence is felt.

Our work

Our developing initiatives include grief education, resources for supporters, connection among bereaved mothers, and future retreat opportunities. We believe a child does not stop being part of a parent’s life because that child has died.

The 24-Hour Absence Challenge

How often does your child enter your awareness in an ordinary day? This educational initiative invites people supporting bereaved parents to notice those moments and consider what they reveal about a parent’s continuing connection with their child. The interest list for a future cohort is open.

Why Still Here exists

The Institute grew from the life and loss of Thomas Manning, and from his mother’s commitment to making space for the people and conversations that grief too often pushes out of view. Thomas’s story remains its foundation, but this work is for every mother who needs to know her child’s name and place in the world still matter.
